Many Celtic fans feel Neil Lennon is not the right man to lead the club forward into next season after watching the team toil at Ibrox today.

Defeated 2-0 by Rangers, the Hoops were clearly second best to Steven Gerrard’s side, an unacceptable performance that has raised some massive first-team questions.

Lennon made a number of strange selection choices, bringing Oliver Burke and Mikey Johnston in from the cold to hand them rare starts.

We struggled to cope with the midfield battle too, fans frustrated that Callum McGregor and Scott Brown were consistently outnumbered.

Whether today is a determining factor in deciding Lennon’s future remains to be seen, but many have already had enough.

Fans are craving a big name, ambitious appointment that will continue looking to achieve the high standards that Brendan Rodgers set at the club before he left for Leicester City.

These supporters have taken to Twitter today to share their thoughts on Lennon’s chances of getting the job…

Has today’s result and performance ruled Neil Lennon out of the permanent Celtic job? Share your thoughts in the comments below…

  • New manager required with european pedigree Rodgers took Celtic to another level and the board must continue in that vain. Had Rodgers left at end of season Lennon would not have been third choice let alone first. Team have lost the drive and feel good factor that Rodgers installed in them to appoint Lennon is going backwards . Board claim wage bill too high but never invested correctly
when in CL have bought average players and squad is now too high several out of contract so let them go and bring in better quality.
