Plenty of Celtic fans would like to see the club make a move for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna after fan-led rumours emerged he could be set for a switch to Glasgow this January.
The Hoops had a multi-million pound bid for the player rejected last August but he did not end up leaving Pittodrie.
That’s led some to think that the Scottish champions could renewed their interest during this window, with the need for a new centre-back clear.
Filip Benkovic will be leaving at the end of the season and Dedryck Boyata’s contract is up too, meaning the club will be losing their two best defenders within the next six months.
We must prioritise defensive signings in the final two weeks of January and many supporters feel McKenna fits the bill as a no-nonsense physical defender who has excellent knowledge of the division.
These fans took to Twitter to discuss a potential move…
You know what? If we got decent money for Boyata this month, I'd take Scott McKenna if we could do a deal with Aberdeen. Big fuck off centre half taking no prisoners off anyone. That's what we need a bit of right now in all honesty.

Don’t see why people are not happy with this? He’s better than Ajer, Jozo, Bitton etc and Boyata and benkovic won’t be here next season

I'd take him. Doesn't get bullied, decent defender, young, also plays for a rival club.

Would take him. Need someone like him at the heart of our defence right now.

Would take McKenna in a minute at Celtic btw. Cracking defender who would be a star at us.

I must know nothing about football, because when I watch this lad I think he’s pretty decent. He’d do for me. Also, he wouldn’t need to come to terms with a new football environment.
