Celtic fans are hoping to see more of Anthony Ralston in Brendan Rodgers’ team this season after he impressed against Airdrie in the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
The Hoops ran out 3-0 winners over the lower league outfit thanks to a double from Scott Sinclair and a debut goal for Timothy Weah.
It was a fine return to action after the winter break and fans are hopeful that we can now find a consistent run of form over the next couple of months.
One of the positives coming out of the match was the performance of Anthony Ralston, who started at right-back.
He has had limited opportunities this season but Rodgers appears to trust the player far more now than he ever has before.
The 20-year-old had a fine evening, winning the stadium man of the match award and proving to be an effective attacking outlet throughout.
With fans desperate for serious competition for Mikael Lustig, many are hopeful he can now stake a claim to play that role in the squad.
These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
Decent game there to get back underway with, looked a bit rusty but job done. How Scott Bain and Tony Ralston aren’t regular starters il never know!

After today’s and recent performances, I would be happy to give Anthony Ralston till the end of the season at right back and then decide if he’s good enough to stay there.

Anthony Ralston was our best 2nd half player at Ibrox and MOTM tonight. Right back not quite the desperate problem that many suggest, at least domestically. X

Ralston is 10x the player Lustig is.
