New managerial link would be backwards step for Celtic

The last Old Firm of the season did not exactly go how we would have liked as Rangers got the better of us at Ibrox and won 2-0.

That said, we’re the Champions of Scotland once again this season and on for another treble, so it’s certainly not all bad.

It remains to be seen whether Neil Lennon is going to remain as manager on a longer-term basis, though, and until we discover whether that is going to be the case, rumours will persist.

And, with Brighton sacking Chris Hughton earlier this morning, his name has been linked with the Scottish Sun revealing that the odds on him joining are club have been slashed.

As likeable as he is and as good a job he did at Brighton at times, though, I think it is a backward step.

He has no experience of challenging right at the top end, though he has in lower divisions, whilst his playing style has never been that adventurous and, in Europe, it would be a problem.

It just probably isn’t ambitious enough.
