With it looking likely that Harry Kewell was now the new favourite to be Hibernian gaffer after attending their game against St Johnstone at the weekend, it seems the Easter Road outfit may have their eyes on Neil Lennon’s assistant, John Kennedy.
Former Australian international Kewell downplayed his interest the other day and it wasn’t long before Kennedy seemed to develop a groundswell on the rumour mill, despite Lennon stating he ‘won’t be going anywhere’.
Plenty of outlets today have ramped up the speculation, suggesting that he is now Hibs’ leading contender for the vacant job and that they are willing to meet any level of compensation necessary to get the deal over the line.
There are obviously other names in the mix but with the change of emphasis on Kennedy over the last 24 hours, plenty of Celtic fans are concerned given the role he plays in the first team coaching setup and they simply don’t want to lose him.
Really wouldn’t like to see John Kennedy leave Celtic for Hibs. He appears to be an excellent coach, highly rated by three different guys, one of whom’s one of the best managers in Europe and the other’s a Celtic legend. There are risks in it for everybody as well. If he goes /1

Can’t see John Kennedy going to hibs, he is definitely playing a big part with fitness and training, even during games he is out shouting instructors more than the manager.

Really hope we don’t lose John Kennedy, guy is an integral part of the coaching staff and knows the players and Celtic’s system better than most. Is often on the touchline as much as Lennon as well.
