Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers says there is absolutely no way that Bayern Munich are on the decline.

His side travel to Germany on Wednesday evening on the back of a superb 3-0 victory at Anderlecht in their latest European fixture, while Bayern dismissed manager Carlo Ancelotti following their recent Champions League Group B defeat to Paris St-Germain.

“We are really looking forward to it,” Rodgers told BBC Scotland. “We have to be realistic. Everyone is looking at Bayern and thinking they have fallen out the tree and are in turmoil but I don’t see that at all.

“They are full of world-class players, they’ve got a manager [Jupp Heynckes] back in who knows the club well and this is a competition they want to win,” he added. “But we will go there very confident that we can do well and go and impose how we want to work.”
