I don’t believe this to be true but if Everton are lining up Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, then in the Celtic vs Everton game, early Sunday morning Frank Lampard gave him a bump towards taking his job away from him with a tepid, uninspired performance from the Toffees in Australia.

Once again, our finishing was called into question as we dominated the Premier League opposition but failed to find the net. Such was the dominance of display that as an outsider looking in you would instantly question which of these teams play in the supposed ‘best league in the world’. Nothing on show in this game would remotely entice Ange to leave the project he is developing at Celtic Park for this Everton team.

It almost seemed as if Lampard’s team was holding out for a draw, whereas Celtic continued throughout the game to dominate possession and play a skillful, attacking football that has won them so many admirers since Ange Postecoglou has taken over.

So, the Sydney Cup is over and two defeats for Celtic, but they will undoubtedly have won many more fans over to the style of play. Commercially the tour has been a success for the club as we continue to show our global stature within the game. As we move forward, following the World Cup, domestically on top, healthy finances and global expansion on the horizon. It’s a good time to be a Celtic fan.

Who am I? – Can you guess this Celtic legend from the clues given?
