There’s not many former footballing legends outside of Scotland that would take time out of their Christmas holidays to pay tribute to the legendary Jock Stein and the Lisbon Lions.
These kind of things are usually reserved to former players and the Celtic fans but Norwegian legend Jan Aage Fjørtoft, did and it was simply stunning.
Taking a tour of Scotland for Christmas, Fjørtoft visited The Seamill Hydro Hotel where Stein took the Lisbon Lions to prepare for their historic European Cup final win over Inter Milan in 1697.
The big Norwegian was clearly excited by his historical venture and posted a little two minute clip on the social media platform:
Today I went to a historical place for @CelticFC
Seamill Hydro is the place Jock Stein took his players to prepare before they become the 1st British European Champions in 1967. The Lisbon LionsThanks @campbellclaret for sharing this https://t.co/ANPnKS7uk9 pic.twitter.com/0ULF7BFk4g

The Seamill Hydro was always synonymous with that famous side and the team used to travel to the coast for preseason right up until the Tommy Burns managerial era.
The Celtic fans always hold this place of historical significance close to their hearts and it is clear from Fjørtoft’s video that anyone with any interest in football history would find this an interesting visit.
Since retiring, Fjørtoft has pursued a career in media and works as an adviser in football business.
