Reports from Norwegian media out VG Sport, have indicated that there is interest in Bodo Glimt’s Norwegian international midfielder Patrick Berg.  Berg is valued at £1.3m by his club and by all accounts, at just 23 years of age, this could be viewed as steal.

Although not named, Celtic are thought to be the club interested in securing his signature and it seems the club are resigned to losing their star defensive midfielder.  Berg does seem the perfect fit to fill the void left in midfield since former captain Scott Brown left at the end of last season.

Norway failed to make it to this summers Euro’s and Berg will be determined to showcase his skills on the big stage of European football and may see Celtic as a perfect opportunity to make that next step. With fellow countryman Kristoffer Ajer expected to make his big move either to England, Spain or Germany, Berg may look upon his fellow countryman as the inspiration to make the move the Glasgow giants in order to get a move to a larger, more richer league.

Berg currently has four caps to his name and has made over 100 appearances for Bodo Glimt in domestic and, fairly limited,  European competitions so although many may see this as a future signing, he already has vast first team experience he could bring to Celtic Park.
