With Celtic having a number of stars on international duty, I do find it interesting to keep tabs on how they are doing for their countries.

To be clear, international duty to me is a bore-fest.

I would rather watch Celtic than international football and that’s not a slight on Scotland, it’s just that it doesn’t float my boat.

But Celtic do have a number of players making appearances for their club and Oh Hyoen-gyu started on the bench for South Korea in their tie against Colombia.

The Korean’s took a 2-0 lead into halftime with two goals from Spurs star Son Heung-Min in the tenth and two minutes into added first half-time.

Cruising, the Koreans would have fancied their chances to add to their lead but Colombia came out in the second half and in a crazy three minutes levelled the score with goals from James Rodriguez and Carrascal in the 46th and 49th minutes.

Oh made an appearance on the 60th minute replacing reported Celtic target Cho Gyue-sung.

The Celtic striker worked hard and in the 88th minute had a shot blocked when made an attempt at goal from the left hand side of the centre of the penalty box.

Oh was caught late right on the final whistle but hopefully he was able to walk it off and he did look fine as he shook the Colombians hands at full time.

A decent 30 minutes under his belt which may, hopefully, stand him in good stead for their next match against Uruguay on the 28th of March.

I will be leaving Vital Celtic today to join John McGinley and Hamish Carton on 67 Hail Hail from Monday the 27th of March.

If you know your history: Martin O’Neill
