With all the rumour and speculation about some top level boardroom changes at Celtic Park, along with those changes you would hope investment will come as well.

With majority shareholder, Dermot Desmond, so far showing no great desire to sell his stake in the club, one man has stepped up and said one day, he would love to buy the club.

Roger Mitchell was the former SPL Chief Executive alomost 20 years ago and has been working abroad in Italy as an financial investor.

Mitchell has been a Celtic supporter all his life and want’s to give the fans a club he can be proud of“What is truly astonishing is how big a club Celtic is and how many people are totally invested in the club.

“One day I’ll try to get some private equity money together and buy it, and give these good people what they deserve.

“But not today.”

Mitchell has been a long term critic of the club and it’s hierarchy and take to Twitter regularly to criticise the running and direction in which we are going, “Celtic today has no “why”, no “meaning”.#

“It’s potentially a world class brand with a unique diaspora that has done no work in this area.

“Probably coz Dermot hasn’t asked for it. The community doesn’t know who we are and where we are going. And in that vacuum comes negativity.”

Mitchell gave no timeline as to when to expect any movement in his plans, but one thing is for sure, if Dermot Desmond was to be ousted, there would be a few nervous people in that Parkhead boardroom.
