Today’s Daily Record reports a curious allegation from Ross County Football Club that their staff have been threatened by our fans when they have been trying to buy tickets for our first away game this season at Dingwall.

Apparently, Celtic fans have been trying to purchase tickets for the home end and that their staff have been threatened and intimidated by fans in their pursuit of tickets for the Highland stadium which holds just over 6,000 fans.

Their club statement stated: “Ross County would like to put out a very clear message that any Celtic supporters attempting to purchase tickets for the home end will be refused. Those who try to gain entry to the home end will also be rejected.”

While of course any intimidation and threatening behaviour should be condemned, there is a duty from Ross County to supply evidence that this has taken place. As all calls should be recorded and information supporters have given should be shared with Celtic in order for the club to launch an investigation into this. It does however strike me as odd that any fans when giving their personal details would then threaten staff over the telephone. However, if what Ross County have alleged is true, then we as a club should not only condemn but investigate ourselves to ensure this doesn’t happen again. In order to do this, Ross County need to supply evidence to support their statements.
