Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer really caught the eye of fans on Saturday in action for Norway against Spain.

The 7-cap Norwegian international took on the Spanish superstars in a Euro 2020 qualifying clash, losing narrowly 2-1 away from home.

Ajer played played the full 90 minutes and was one of his side’s top performers, winning plaudits from Norwegians and also Celtic fans watching his progress closely.

Still just 20 years of age, he’s emerging as a top quality centre-back having changed his position from midfield during the Brendan Rodgers era.

He’s clearly still learning but looks to be improving all the time and has the potential to become a real elite player. More performances like Saturday’s against teams like Spain will only further enhance his reputation.

With Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic on the verge of a Hoops exit, it seems inevitable he will play an even bigger role in the first-team next season.

These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his weekend display…
