Celtic cruised to a comfortable 5-0 victory at Partick Thistle in their final away game of the season.

Leigh Griffiths scored from the penalty spot after Patrick Roberts was fouled, before then delivering for Tom Rogic to add another.

On loan Roberts increased the advantage with an excellent strike prior to the break, and went on to claim his second after Callum McGregor had already netted via the underside of the crossbar.

James Forrest’s early attempt from the edge of the area was blocked by goalkeeper Tomas Cerny, who also denied Roberts before McGregor proved too high.

Emilio Izaguirre then found an upright from close-range for the visitors, although Callum Booth suddenly brought down Roberts and Griffiths registered their one hundredth goal of the season from the spot.

The Hoops striker later turned supplier when crossing towards the far post for Rogic to slide in a second before the half-hour was reached.

Griffiths then lacked sufficient force to really trouble Cerny and Liam Lindsay replied too close to Craig Gordon; until Roberts made in 3-0 from distance inside the final five minutes of the opening half.

Celtic continued to dictate the action upon the restart but were required to wait before substitute Scott Sinclair’s volley was dealt with by half-time replacement keeper Mark Ridgers.

They still extended their advantage when McGregor’s 84th minute effort came down off the underside of the crossbar and was ruled to have crossed the line.

Moments later Roberts duly curled a fifth into the bottom corner as the visitors moved to within just a single game of an unbeaten league campaign.
