As reported by outlets such as The BBC, Celtic have had a second bid rejected for Hibernian midfielder John McGinn this summer, again falling below the Edinburgh’s side valuation of the Scottish international.

Neil Lennon confirmed the second bid ahead of Hibs’ UEFA Europa League qualifier against NSI Runavik this evening.

The Daily Record say that Hibs value him at around £3m, with the Hoops’ latest offer closer to £2m.

Clearly he is a player wanted by Brendan Rodgers, but the club seem intent on eking out as much value from the deal as possible, as we’d expect. McGinn has less than a year year left on his contract, meaning Celtic are holding all the cards when it comes to any deal.

Some supporters though feel the club should now end the speculation and pay the price that the Easter Road outfit are looking for, believing that he could be a long-term successor to captain Scott Brown.

These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest rejected bid…
