I wish Neil Lennon would just let it go.

In his latest shambolic attack on the fans and denial about his own part in last season’s collapse, Lennon laments the fact that he still finds himself on the outside looking in on football management as he admits at least one thing.

He is mystified why he hasn’t managed to get back into the dugout.

Let me give you some advice Neil. Conduct yourself with more humility and have a little self reflection about your actions during and after your tenure at Celtic and maybe someone will take a punt on you.

It’s not a good look continually crying to the media at every opportunity about how you were hard done by during your final season at Parkhead. And it is something, I am sure, clubs look at when they screen prospective candidates for a top job position.

As reported by The Glasgow Times, Lennon seems to hit back again at the fans, “Some players just got to the end of the road (during his last season at Celtic).

“The pandemic hit us badly because once we returned to action, we were never the same again.

“But I look back with satisfaction at what I did achieve.

“And while I’d have loved to have created history by winning that 10th title, one or two people have short memories. During my final spell at Celtic, we won five out of seven trophies which isn’t bad, is it?

“It is a bit of a mystery. I think I’ve done a decent job wherever I’ve been. Even at Bolton, I kept the club up in my first season despite the financial problems there.

“And while Rangers weren’t always strong during the period I managed Celtic, winning four Trebles took some doing.”

And that last comment threw me.

I mean, surely it’s me just reading that wrong that Lennon is not claiming four trebles over his period of managing Celtic?

But one thing is for sure. He’ll never get a part in Frozen 3 if he doesn’t start to let it go.

This column is the worst! Neil Lennon is spot on! He has a pheonominal success rate! Neil
Lennon literally put his life on the line for Celtic!
He walked away because he was not being backed, neither by the board nor his pathetic backroom staff! Many of the so called fans haven’t really shown him the support he deserves either!
He is a far bigger Celtic man than any of you lot!
