With so much going on at Celtic Park at the moment in terms of who will be the new manager and no word from the club, the supporters are quite frankly getting fed up waiting for Eddie Howe to make his mind up on whether he wants the Celtic job or not.

Some fans are now of the belief that the club should draw a line under the matter and look at other options. Many of these same fans are probably sick of the ‘not knowing’ and are convinced the stalemate is down to the fact that Howe, quite simply, is not sold on the idea of Celtic.

According to journalist, Hugh Keevins, that is simply not the the case.  Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins gave an update that may help ease the minds of the supporters, “For as long as there is no definitive word on Eddie, whole situation is open to speculation. People that I respect tell me that it’s still ongoing, it’s still alive matter.

Do you think Eddie Howe will become the Celtic manager?

YES

NO

“However, I don’t think Eddie Howe is big enough to be keeping Celtic waiting under these circumstances. I looked at the Crystal Palace result at the weekend and you think, ‘Is he waiting for Crystal Palace?‘.

“I then looked at Burnley- Newcastle game and I thought well, Newcastle won that game, but had they lost that ‘Is he waiting for Newcastle?

“I do not see how Celtic could just bring the club to a standstill while they wait for Eddie Howe to give them an answer because there is so much in the buying and selling department to be done before next season kicks off on the 31st of July. They can’t go on like this.”

If Howe does have his eye on a possible job coming up in the EPL and this is the reason he has not given the board an answer yet, then absolutely, he should be chased from coming anywhere near the job. But if negotiations ARE still ongoing, then hopefully these will be concluded in time for Monday when the new Chief Executive, Dom McKay, takes over and an announcement can finally be made.
