Speaking to Sky Sports and as quoted by the Birmingham Mail, former Scotland striker Kris Boyd has suggested that both Aston Villa and Brighton could stump up the cash to sign Odsonne Edouard.

The striker is once again proving this season why he is the best in Scotland with some cool displays in front of goal in the league and, indeed, in Europe.

He’s looking set for a fine career and it’s easy to forget how young he really is, which is why it’s probably a concern that eventually clubs from the big leagues around the continent are going to come calling.

Indeed, Boyd reckons both Aston Villa and Brighton in the top flight could come calling before too long, with the former forward having this to say:

“I wouldn’t be surprised if a Brighton or an Aston Villa come in and pay the £30million for Odsonne Edouard and then he goes again.”

Without doubt, we’re a bigger club than both of them but, unfortunately, Premier League money does tend to speak and so his comments will strike a raw nerve.
