Celtic fans are calling on Brendan Rodgers to give more first team action to Lewis Morgan after his impressive substitute performance away to Armenian side Alashkert on Tuesday night.

Morgan came on in the second half and continues to show he has the kind of quality that could be a big benefit to Celtic over the coming season, with his driving run winning the corner that led to the second goal of the 3-0 victory.

The former St Mirren man had a storming 2017/18 season in the Scottish Championship and looks at home making the step up to Rodgers’ talented squad.

However, for his development’s sake he clearly needs regular first team football, so the prospect of a loan isn’t completely out of the question. Clubs like Sunderland have been linked with a such a move this summer.

Hoops fans are adamant his football should come at Celtic Park though, with a massive 98% of respondents to a poll we published earlier this week believing he should get more first team action, rather than head to another team on a temporary basis.

Will he get the opportunity to shine from the start in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League tie next week?
