Player has eyes on playing for Celtic next season

Quoted by Pundit Arena, Celtic player Lee O’Connor has revealed that he is eyeing playing for the first-team next season, whilst he gets experience in the youth set-up this year.

The youngster signed right towards the end of the summer transfer window as a flurry of activity went on and he came in from Manchester United.

We’ll be hoping that that pedigree comes through in the coming years, then, though it appears as though this season we might well not see a lot of him unless a massive injury crisis takes hold.

A full-back, he’s taken time to reflect on what he hopes his progress will be:

“At the moment, I’m just looking to get a run of games [at underage level] and show them why they’ve got me there. Hopefully, the coaching staff will see and next season in pre-season, I can show the first-team manager that I’m capable enough to make the step.”

He’s a talented young boy and he’s at a club where he can show what he can do and be rewarded with the opportunities if he does that well.

He’s clearly ambitious but level-headed, too, so good luck to him in the coming years.
