As quoted by Medio Tiempo, Mexican footballer Isaac Brizuela has said that he was offered the chance to move to Celtic five years ago, and that he would consider a move if it was offered him again in the near future.

The Bhoys have started this season well and, though they left it late, they ended up having a decent transfer window to springboard us into the league campaign.

Some good stuff, then, and whilst we wait for the league competition to start up again at the weekend, the Mexican international Brizuela has made some interesting comments about the Hoops’ apparent enquiry into his availability.

With that in mind, then, this is what he had to say:

“The club didn’t let me go because Celtic didn’t want to pay their asking price. I won’t give up hope that such a moment will come, despite my age.”

He’s now approaching his 30s and so, in many ways, this ship might well have sailed for the player.

It’s good to hear that he would be open to a move to our club but, personally, I cannot see us reigniting this one.
