A late withdrawal of Polish replacement referees has hit the Scottish Football Associations plans to deal with a referees’ strike this weekend.

Having arranged for three sets of officials to come across from Poland and other countries the SFA believed they had rescued eleven of the scheduled twenty Scottish fixtures.

However, the Polish SFA has now said their referees are in fact required in their own country.

Even so the SFA remains confident it can still cover ten matches and confirmed all six SPL matches will definitely go ahead as planned.

But this latest news has resulted in the postponement of the Morton v Falkirk clash at Cappielow Park, which took the number of games cancelled in Divisions One, Two and Three to ten.

The Scottish Cup tie between Annan Athletic and Brechin City was later postponed after a failed pitch inspection.
