After an extremely well deserved victory in the Premier Sports Cup semi final, Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou can look forward to his first major cup final.

And it is remarkable that after just five short months, the Aussie gaffer has came in and took over a shambles of a team and managed to guide them to within a whisker of some silverware when most pundits, and to be fair, Celtic fans, never gave us a hope.

And that’s not because Ange was appointed, but simply down to the fact he never had the opportunity to clobber together a semblance of a first team.

After James Forrest slammed home the winner in the 76th minute, the Celtic team saw out the rest of the match relatively comfortably, except from a couple of nervy moments at the back caused by slack passing.

The warning signs were there when Joe Hart was almost caught in possession in the first half as he lazily attempted to clear a pass back and the St Johnstone striker caught him off guard with a well timed interception that almost ended up in the back of the Englishman’s net.

And the slack ball across the back from James McCarthy in the 96th minute? Heart in mouth stuff.

In his post match interview with BBC Scotland, reporter Kenny McIntyre asked Ange about those heart stopping moments in defence and it seemed like he was hoping to fish a headline from the Celtic gaffer when he asked, “You dominated the game. You deserved to win. A slight concern a couple of the chances you gave St Johnstone they didn’t really create them themselves.

“It was more slip up with your players at the back. Two I can think of certainly.”

But Postecoglou wasn’t taking the bait and batted back the question with his usual calm manner but with a slight light hearted warning to his players, “Entertaining. For sure.

“I’ve just gotta sort of refine what I mean by entertaining to our players because they’re taking it to extreme lengths for sure.”

Although Celtic do have the best defensive record in the country, the Hoops gaffer does need to get those slack moments of concentration ironed out as, if this happens against better opposition, as shown against Leverkusen earlier in the season, we will bet punished.

It would havebeen bad for football livingston done it and was praised for their organisation 11 men behind ball slowing game up its a disgrace spending money to watch it league points no scoring draws no points

I find it odd that despite many heart stopping moments in our defence, we have the best defensive record in Scotland!
Maybe as fans we are simply unrealistic in our expectations!
Perfection would be nice, but it isn’t realistic, is it?
