What a victory that was. Not a classic but a much needed win.

With Celtic finally picking up a win on the road with a 2-1 win against Aberdeen with goals from the beautiful Kyogo and Jota, those precious three points take an immense amount of pressure from Hoops gaffer, Ange Postecoglou as we head into the international break.

The victory removes that monkey off the back and should, hopefully, give the team a much needed boost as they attempt to climb back up the SPFL table.

It wasn’t pretty Angeball we saw, but it was necessary football.

Dig in. Work hard and defend. And it worked. Sort of.

With the players persisting with playing the ball from the back, Celtic were almost caught out a few times in possession, which is frustrating as it brings on un-necessary pressure to the backline.

But Jota’s 84th minute winner proved to be crucial as the Hoops took all three points back to Glasgow.

What was telling was not the players celebrations with the fans at the end. But the managers. A clear message was being sent to the fans.

As the players walked back to the dressing rooms, Postecoglou took a minute in front of the celebrating supporters, stared intently at his fans and beat the crest on hist chest. Then two hands clenched he shook them towards the supporters.

His message was clear. Stick with it. It will come. And the fans loved it.

So did I. I thought it was a look of a man with steely determination.

Postecoglou came out fighting this week against his critics. And rightly so.

And today should hopefully be the start of a recovery that the will see the team now make a push further to the top of the table.
