Ange nailed it yesterday when he was asked about an update on the Greek striker’s future at the club.

With a deal to Atlanta United expected to be announced any day now, the Celtic boss was asked about it on Sky Sports as Celtic prepared to face St Johnstone yesterday at McDiarmid Park.

Postecoglou said, “It’s kind of gone off my radar now.

“There is something pending there and I’m sure it will get resolved in the coming days.

“I will probably hear about it [at] the same time as you guys.

“Maybe, if you are on Instagram, you will hear about it earlier than me.

“I don’t expect him back in the group, but it hasn’t been finalised yet.”

And the Greek striker didn’t disappoint.

Giakoumakis posted on his Instagram story in what looks like an emotional farewell to the Celtic fans.

A short clip highlighting a couple of his goals, his Champions League goal against Shakthar and his League Cup semi-final goal against Kilmarnock, was posted yesterday afternoon not long after Celtic sealed their 4-1 win over the Saints at McDiarmid Park.

Giakoumakis has been a good servant to the club since signing last summer but lack of game time and supposed unhappiness about the terms of his contract has led the Greek striker to initiate a move away from Parkhead.

Hopefully, the deal will be announced sooner rather than later so that the player and the club can put this unfortunate episode behind us.

Who am I? Can you guess who this former Celt is?

If someone signs a contract, and are then not happy with it , it certainly is not the clubs fault. Trying to blackmail our club is NOT the thing to do, and if they do not want robe here, then it is goodbye.!!!No IFS or buts, onyirbike !!!
