When Moussa Dembele left Celtic over the summer, it was certainly a blow for the Hoops. He was such an important Celtic player, and Brendan Rodgers relied on him heavily.

However, the significance of his departure has been masked somewhat by the presence of Odsonne Edouard. The forward signed on a permanent basis back in June, and though his talent was clear whilst on-loan, it remained to be seen as to whether he was good enough to replace Dembele long-term.

The early signs have been good, and it appears as though Celtic fans are optimistic.

We recently asked Celtic supporters whether Edouard can become better than Dembele, and in response, 88% of those polled have revealed that they think he can.

Let’s not forget, Dembele bagged 26 league goals through just a couple of years in Scotland, and he emerged as one of the best players in the country as a result.

That said, with 4 league goals already this season, Edouard is doing a decent job of taking on much of the load. Still, this is very high praise from the Celtic Park faithful.

With a few more big games, and in particular a couple of big European nights, there is no doubting that the striker can go on to become the star of our attack, and from there his potential could be limitless.
