It certainly has been a tough week for the Celtic family and of course the club. Defeat to the then bottom club, Ross County, on Sunday night all but conceded the title to our biggest rivals. In fact, it was an open invitation to them to come to our house, kick in the front door and rip the trophy from the cabinet as that result has set up a potential title party if Rangers beat Celtic at Celtic Park on March 21st.
And just when the Hoops board think things cannot get any worse, a prominent Celtic podcaster from A Celtic State of Mind, sent a chilling shot across the Parkhead ships bow as he warned that fan groups are getting together in a bid to take action that will result in affecting the next campaigns season tickets.
Should Neil Lennon be Celtic manager next season?
Paul John Dykes appeared as a guest on last night’s Go Radio Football Show and was asked by the shows pundit, ex Rangers player, Barry Ferguson, if it was true that he really thought the sale of the season tickets would really be affected after the teams capitulation this year, “Yeah, I do believe that they will be affected. We are sitting at the moment with 57,000. Now I think it’d be a hard sell under the circumstances as people’s financial situations have changed but I think the club would have been planning for that.
“From what I’m hearing, the feedback we’re getting is that there’s a great number of Celtic fans and in actual fact, they’re becoming quite organised. So groups are coming together to send this message to the club, and it’s all around renewing the season tickets. So I think there’s going to be some drama over the coming weeks in relation to that”.
It will be interesting to what more “drama” is set to come the Celtic boards way but you can be sure of one thing, it will be direct, organised and calculated to hurt the board of directors where it hurts. Their pockets.
