Prominent Scottish pundit has doubts over potential Rodgers successor

|

It’s been a rather eventful day to say the least, hasn’t it? And there is going to be plenty more twists and turns on the way this week you feel.

And, let’s be honest here, the timing of it all is what has really stunk – rather than Brendan actually leaving the club.

Perhaps we knew eventually he’d go back down south, but not mid-season and not with the prospect of 10-in-a-row in the near future.

Anyway, many are talking about a successor at the moment and it seems as though Steve Clarke is one man that fits the frame.

Personally, though, I cannot see it being the right time for that given what has happened of late with him and Rangers and former Gers striker Ally McCoist seems to be thinking that way too.

As quoted by talksport, he said:

“I think a lot of people automatically thought Stevie might have been a natural successor to Brendan.

“I’m not sure that the timing of Brendan’s departure suits Steve Clarke.”

For sure, I think Clarke would do a good job but, right now, I can’t see it being the right call.
