Celtic supporters were overjoyed by the performance of Odsonne Edouard on Sunday after he scored a double to help sink Motherwell 4-1 at Celtic Park.
The Frenchman hadn’t scored since Boxing Day prior to Sunday’s encounter, ending a seven match stretch without a goal and proving he is the man to beat in the Hoops attack.
Much has been said about the arrival of Oliver Burke and Timo Weah, but Edouard showed exactly why Celtic paid big money for him during last summer’s transfer window.
His first was a superb header from a classy Ewan Henderson cross, while his second would do Shunsuke Nakamura proud after he curled in a sumptuous free-kick off the bar from distance.
Supporters are now hoping he can go on an extended scoring run and bring his tally for the season beyond 20 goals at least.
These fans took to Twitter on Sunday to share their thoughts on his performance…
Edouard was brilliant today. Two great goals. Gave him some stick last week but glad he showed us what he can do and proved me wrong today. Hopefully he kicks on and carries on with performances like today! 🍀 🍋

That was a very enjoyable & satisfying victory. If ever I need an added excuse to hate those Neanderthals then ive got it.
Great win and all 4 goals where excellent.
Hopefully now we get to see Edouard get a run of games to show his class. Was superb.

Huge win that. Certainly a game of two halves. Excellent way to secure the win at the end though. Some really good performances from a fair few players as well. Shambolic mess with their goal but it didn’t matter in the end. Edouard’s free kick was something else. Big week ahead!
