Frank McAvennie has a solution to Celtic’s defensive crisis. As Celtic lost another two goals against Livingston due to basic defensive errors and poor organisation at set pieces, McAvennie says recalling on loan defender, Jack Hendry, could help solve the crisis.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said, “They may look at bringing him back because the defence right now is awful, it really is. It is the worst defence I have seen since Lenny’s excuse for going to Dubai.

“Hendry has bulked himself up while he has been in Belgium and has been improved massively from what I’ve heard.”

There is only one wrong with that solution. Vital Celtic had already reported that the Hoops can’t recall Hendry from his loan as they never inserted a recall clause when the temporary move was finalised.

Oostende are exploring the possibility of taking the Scotland international to Belgium on a permanent basis as Hendry has been instrumental in helping to guide the team to 8th position in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

Hendry has made seventeen appearances for the Belgians so far this season and has found himself on the scoresheet twice.

Celtic don’t have another fixture until the 27th January where they face Hamilton at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premier League.
