According to the Daily Record, the race for Celtic target Romaine Sawyers is getting increasingly intense at the moment.

The outlet has reported that the Bhoys are interested in the midfielder with the Bees open to selling for the right price.

Indeed, he’d likely be a good player for us as he’d add to our midfield options and, let’s face it, we need more players in that area.

However, the race to sign his signature is looking increasingly hard to win at the moment with the report suggesting that Leeds United have entered the race – as well as a host of other English sides.

With Sawyers a proven Championship performer and Brentford apparently happy to sell him if the right price comes in, it makes sense that there is apparently a gaggle of clubs looking at him.

We, of course, can offer trophies and European football but, as always, it remains to be seen as to whether English money ends up talking.

  • Priority is the full backs,1) Replace Listing as one right back released too and Ralston appears to be not ready yet to fill the position, also Tiernay maybe a late bid for England or Europe and we have a winger Johnny Haynes filling the position.
Need also to get a top rate goalscorer from one of the lower English Leagues or from abroad as no guarantee Griffith’s is on track for a long season of playing again and if him or Eduard gets injured we could be in danger that position too.
Hope I am wrong but these things happen in Sports !
