Celtic triumphed in the first Old Firm clash of the season following second-half goals from Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths at Ibrox.

Midfielder Rogic opened their account soon after the break before Griffiths added a second from Patrick Roberts’ pass with the midway point approaching.

The visitors were always dominant and Rogic immediately had a long-range effort turned over before then finding Wes Foderingham again. Griffiths also headed Kieran Tierney’s cross too high and next curled towards the home keeper.

Both Roberts and Stuart Armstrong similarly found Foderingham, with their colleagues continuing to pressurise straight after the break: Griffiths seeing an attempt blocked before Rogic fired high into the net after Roberts was initially denied.

Winger Scott Sinclair narrowly missed soon after, although Craig Gordon showed great reflexes to deal with Alfredo Morelos’ close-range header.

But Celtic still doubled their lead when Griffiths collected from Roberts and finished low past Foderingham, while his later corner was headed over by Jozo Simunovic.

There were still further efforts to follow from Mikael Lustig, substitute James Forrest and Armstrong ensuring the visitors’ dominance continued.
