This is news that we simply hate whenever the international break happens.

Celtic fans for a long time hate this period of the calendar as we have suffered injuries to key players at key stages of the football season.

And it doesn’t get more important than this.

Liel Abada appears to have suffered an injury whilst on international duty with Israel and it seems that the young winger is set for a scan to ascertain the extent of a thigh muscle injury.

The report from Sport5 claims, “Liel Abda, who will not dress for the game, will go for an MRI today to accurately diagnose the severity of the injury to the anterior thigh muscle.

“The player’s ultrasound examination was transferred to Celtic at the request of the Scottish club and the same will be done with the MRI examination.”

Not great news for the club or the player.

Abada has had to settle for gametime from the bench this season due to the form of Jota and Maeda and this will come as a huge blow to him.

The 21-year-old has been the subject of various transfer rumours prior to joining up with his Israeli teammates and if he had designs of coming and making an impact in the first team, this will no doubt leave Abada with a feeling of growing frustration.

I will be leaving Vital Celtic today to join John McGinley and Hamish Carton on 67 Hail Hail from Monday the 27th of March.
