If as predicted, Odsonne Edouard does make his expected move to English Premiership side Brighton, it seems Celtic are going French again as they look to replace the Hoops talisman goals with Belgian side OH Leuven’s centre forward, Thomas Henry.

Reports have been circulating since last night that the Hoops are now favourites to land the 26 year old in a £7m move this week.

The Hoops do face stiff competition from the continent and England as Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Roma are all rumoured to be interested.

And it seems that although the Belgian Juliper side are looking to cash in on their prized asset, it will take a significant bid to persuade the club to let him go as a £6m bid was rejected from Swansea just three weeks ago.

Henry has been in brilliant goal scoring form for Leuven since he signed for just £400,000 two years ago from Tubize-Braine, and since his move he has racked up 41 goals in 71 appearances and should Edouard go, it looks like Postecoglou has earmarked the Frenchman as the man to replace him.

With the emergence of Kyogo this season, at least if Edouard did go, the Celtic fans know they have an excellent player in their ranks that can fill those huge goal scoring shoes and the pain of losing their star man will be softened somewhat.

But if Postecoglou can pull off this move, it would signal a statement of real intent by the Aussie gaffer that he is after the title and this seasons rebuild, has now turned into a title challenge.
