Transfer stories were very sparse this last week and like a bus on a rainy day, you wait for one and three come along at the one time.

With Pete O’Rourke and Charlie Nicholas both tipping further movement for the Hoops in this window despite what Ange said last Friday, another name has popped up that the Hoops are reportedly interested in.

According to Goal, Celtic face competition from English sides Man City, Brentford and Southampton as well as German side Hoffenheim for Irish teenager and QPR forward, Sinclair Armstrong.

The 18 year old striker was one of the top talents in the Irish Leagues before he secured a move to London club Queens Park Rangers.

Currently on loan at Torquay United the youngster is clearly impressing as a raft of clubs circle tracking his progress.

The Hoops have already added three Irishmen to their squad this season with the signings of James McCarthy, Liam Scales and Johnny Kenny.

Armstrong is in decent form at Torquay. Already on sixteen appearances for the League One side scoring two.

On his recent outing with the Irish u19’s, Armstrong netted twice (assisted by Johnny Kenny) as the young Irish guns defeated Montenegro in the European Championship u19 qualifiers.

It seems that Armstrong is a great prospect coming through, and along with Kenny, would be a very good development player for the future.
