As reported yesterday by Vital Celtic, a report from The Daily Record has now confirmed that Celtic are “likely” sign 20 year old midfield dynamo Fernando Henrique.

Henrique has been tracked by the Hoops since late October alongside Manchester City and Middle East side, Al Ain, who had a bid of around £3.5m knocked back by the Brazilians in the summer, according to Globo.com.

Back in October, Globo claimed, “The midfielder’s name is debated in Celtic’s analysis area as one of the possible targets for next season.

“Fernando Henrique’s stake was sought for information on the possibility of a negotiation in January and the values desired by the Tricolor.”

Quite simply, it seems like Celtic are willing to stump up the cash to land the talented midfielder and it is little wonder. A video of the youngster in action can be viewed here and, my goodness, this boy play.

Ange Postecoglou is clearly casting his net far and wide as he confirmed at the fan media conference when he said, ” “I still think there’s a little bit of a blind spot when it comes to Asia.

“There’s some top quality players already from Japan and probably South Korea, the two biggest nations who are already fantastic talents that have proven themselves at the highest possible level.”

“Iran’s another nation that’s got some fantastic footballers.”

So it seems the Hoops boss is starting his signing spree in Brazil.

These really are exciting times for the Celtic support as Postecoglou dips into markets that are unfamiliar with fans, and if the players he plucks out are half as good as Kyogo, we are in for a helluva season in Paradise.
