As the January window fast approaches, the speculation surrounding the Hoops transfer activity seems to be ramping up as Ange Postecoglou identifies and moves to strengthen the squad in what will be his first proper transfer window.

Postecoglou has been adamant that this transfer window will be less frantic and more organised than the last and, as Vital Celtic reported last week, reporter Peter Martin spoke about the Celtic gaffers transfer demands that seem to be getting delivered by the Hoops board, “Now Ange Postecoglou has thrown down the gauntlet.

“Celtic will sign players in January and the word from inside Celtic is he wants them at the start of January.”

According to a report by The Sun, Celtic are about to do just that.

23 year old attacker Daniel Mandriou looks set to join the Hoops in as Ange’s first winter signing.

The report claims that Mandriou has been on Postecoglou’s radar since the summer and it seems that Celtic WILL land their man with just a transfer fee yet to be agreed between the two clubs.

Mandriou has been in senstational form for  Shamrock Rovers this season, scoring fifteen goals in thirty one appearances.

His form has earned him a call up to Stephen Kenny’s Republic of Ireland squad but he, as yet, is still to make his full international debit.

Mandriou was signed by Rovers from bitter rivals, Bohemians in December 2020 but were forced to pay just €20,000 in compensation after a dispute about the transfer.
