Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is facing a battle to be fit for Celtic’s clash with Rangers on September 2nd, according to The Scottish Sun.

The paper say that the in-form Frenchman is likely to be missing until AT LEAST the Hoops’ home leg against FK Suduva next Thursday and is ruled out of the away clash in Lithuania tomorrow.

With Brendan Rodgers not taking any unnecessary chances with his fitness, the prospects of him featuring in the derby are increasingly slim.

It’s a real shame considering his lightning start to the season. Since joining the club on a permanent basis he’s scored four goals in seven appearances for the Hoops.

Thankfully Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths returned to scoring form at the weekend and both appear to be fit and ready to go for the challenges ahead.

Dembele in particular looks ready to start games again and hopefully we’ll see him in the starting XI for tomorrow’s UEFA Europa League play-off match.

We all know what he can do against Rangers of course…
