Celtic will be going into the new season with a target on their back as per usual and the Bhoys must once again rise to that and respond.
There is no reason why they cannot, either, but keeping key players needs to be a part of this summer’s action if they want to stay top of the tree.
Worryingly, though, there is a great deal of speculation around Kieran Tierney at the moment with Arsenal’s opening bid for him rejected.
According to the Scottish Sun, though, they are not giving in just yet and the report’s claim of what the Gunners are willing to pay the player underlines how hard the task will be to keep him.
Apparently, the Bhoys’ left-back will be offered a long-term deal on £70k-a-week which, frankly, is something we’re not going to be able to compete with for a long time.
It’s massive money for us but not for a Premier League club – especially one the size of Arsenal – and it just goes to show what we’re having to compete with.
