Report: Striker terms “agreed” as Celtic clinch international’s signature on long-term deal

|

Celtic look to have made the first move in the transfer window with news that Patryk Klimala has flown into Glasgow to complete his medical ahead of a £3.5m move from Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok as reported by the BBC Sport website.

The 21-year-old striker is rumoured to have signed a four and a half year deal as Neil Lennon secures much needed reinforcements for his forward line.

Lennon has already seen Scott Sinclair depart the club to Preston North End and Lewis Morgan could also be on his way out after it was revealed that he has agreed personal terms with Inter Miami.

Celtic have also seen speculation in Odsonne Edouard increase in recent weeks with the transfer window now open and Leicester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Lyon have all been credited with an interest.

Edouard had “agreed” personal terms with Monaco in the summer but the move fell through and he has enjoyed a productive season with 12 goals and 8 assists in 17 league appearances so far this season.

Much of Edouard’s future could depend on that of Moussa Dembele who is being linked with a €100m move to a host of Premier League clubs and Juventus also said to be monitoring the situation. Celtic will be hoping for a bidding war for their former £19.7m striker as they have a 10% sell on clause for the Lyon striker.

Will Patryk Klimala be a success at Celtic?

Yes

No

Klimala is something of an unknown quantity with 7 goals in 18 games for Bialystok but as a Poland under-21 international, fans of the Parkhead club will be hoping that he can provide the spark that re-ignites their campaign as they go in search of 9-in-a-row and an unprecedented 11th successive trophy.
