According to iSport in Iran, Esteghlal have agreed a deal with striker Gary Hooper and he looks set to move there to play his football next.
The striker has been a free agent for a little while after leaving Sheffield Wednesday and many of us wondered whether or not we might look to bring him back to Celtic.
The Scottish Sun reported back in the summer that the striker was a target of Neil Lennon’s but nothing seemed to come of it and now it looks as though he is heading for the Middle East.
Certainly, it seems a little bit of an odd career move given the pedigree has got but if it’s an opportunity that he really wants to pursue then fair play to him.
I’d liked to have seen him back in the green and white hoops but we’re okay without him and I think, therefore, this isn’t a massive issue.
