Since his emergence as one of Celtic’s most promising young players, Kieran Tierney has established himself as arguably the best defender in the Scottish Premiership, and his impressive performances have attracted the interest of Everton. The Toffees have reportedly made a £25M bid for the Scotsman, but 94% of our respondents are hoping for a more substantial fee.

As the Daily Record reported last week, Everton have submitted a £25M bid for the services of the Celtic left-back. While that is certainly a sizeable fee, one that would empower the Bhoys to invest significantly in the squad, Celtic should push for more money.

After all, Tierney has progressed from strength to strength, and despite his age, he is one of the best and most decorated players in Brendan Rodgers’ squad. He is equally competent in defence and attack, and he is without question one of the most exciting talents in the Scottish Premiership. Incontestably, he has the ability to become a true Celtic great.

If we consider the current state of the transfer market, in which players are bought and sold for vastly inflated prices, then Celtic are well within their rights to insist upon a more significant fee. Scarcely do you see a player of Tierney’s ability emerge successfully from the academy. Thus, the Bhoys should try and attain a larger fee. Our poll shows that a whopping 94% of our respondents agree with that sentiment.
