Rodgers linked again with move on Celtic star

|

The speculation has been rife since Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, left Celtic. The worry was always who will Rodgers come back and raid the Hoops for? McGregor? Christie? Jullien?

Well, stories appearing from the English media, namely Leicester Live, the suggestion now is that The Foxes are set to make their move on Celtic’s hitman, Odsonne Edouard, since striker Islam Slimani left the club on Wednesday.

Although no official bid has been made Rodgers is reported to be keen on the Frenchman. In a recent interview regarding incoming to the club, The Foxes boss said, “There are areas we want to develop, but if it’s not for this market, it will be for the summer.

“If any of those players left, we would still have enough around the squad to cope, but that may change as the month goes on. We would just have to wait and see.”

Clearly it all depends on Leicester keeping all their strikers in the January window but Rodgers has a habit of being cryptic in his pressers after the recent Benkovic “will he won’t he” saga.

Celtic recently dropped their asking price for Edouard with a £40m price tag being slapped on Edouard to ward off potential suitors but it is believed now that Celtic will consider offers of £25m and above.

There are still sixteen days left of the current window and although Hoops fans are resigned to losing their talisman in the summer, a January move would be regarded as a disaster if it went through.
