Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Dedryck Boyata is likely to re-join the Celtic first-team squad on Monday and could even be in contention to feature for the side against FK Suduva on Thursday night.

The manager provided the update speaking to press after today’s win against Partick Thistle, as reported by Sky Sports.

It’s an amazing turnaround considering he missed today’s match to train with the U20s side, but it appears there has been a breakthrough in the relationship between the player, the club and his representatives.

His agents met with the Celtic board at the tail-end of last week, which could have something to do with the latest development.

As annoying as his contract situation has been, Rodgers may be thinking in purely football terms when considering his selection, given he is an obvious upgrade over the likes of Jack Hendry.

It appears that Belgian may not have played his last game for the club after all.

Do you think Dedryck Boyata deserves to play for Celtic again? Let us know in the comments…
