Rodgers’ transfer update should allay some Celtic fears

Though we’ve got the strongest squad in Scotland and plenty of good players, there is a slight sense of frustration that maybe we’ve not signed as many as we could have so far this summer.

The Bhoys have brought in Odsonne Edouard for a record and we cannot complain about that but it is a bit of a concern that other players don’t seem to be on the way – though Moses Odubajo is at least training.

With that said, though, Brendan Rodgers has moved to allay any fears with him discussing the idea that we need to replace Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts, and add on top of that.

Quoted by Sky Sports, he said:

“We lost Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts who were really influential players for us in all the years I have been here. We need to at least replace that and if we can also add to the squad.”

The Verdict

Actions speak louder than words, of course, but there is at least a sense that some quality players need to come in.

Roberts and Armstrong were not as key last season for us but they still have great quality and so to get similar level players in would be a decent move for sure.
