New Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing Celtic star Dedryck Boyata to the English Premier League this summer, according to The Scottish Sun.
The Belgian international’s contract at the Hoops expires this summer, meaning he can already sign a pre-contract with any club he likes and apparently Leicester are on the interested list.
The paper say that Rodgers will be given an eye-watering £200m to strengthen the Foxes this summer and the arrival of Boyata would not even put a dent in that figure, nor can Celtic do anything to stop him from going.
Rodgers stopped the Belgian’s exit from Celtic during the summer transfer window, with Fulham reported to have been interested, making the whole move potentially incredibly upsetting for Hoops fans.
Boyata has emerged as one of the most consistent players in this Celtic team and although there’s been an acknowledgement from supporters for a while that he would end up moving on this summer, it would a pretty poor sigh to see him end up at the Foxes with his former boss.
