So we drop into the Europa League. The good news is that at the moment at least, we’re in Pot 2. That means we avoid the likes of Anderlecht of Belgium, Liverpool and Fiorentina!

However, Pot 1 could see us in a group with the likes of Tottenham, Schalke, Napoli, Villareal, Basel, Marseille, Dnipro and then the fate of Borussia Dortmund, Ajax and CSKA Moscow still to be decided.

Pot 3 holds teams such as Besiktas, AS Monaco, Legia Warsaw or Fenerbache.

Pot 4 is teams such as Southampton should they get through qualifying, Rapid Vienna, Partizan Belgrade and FC Sion.

There’s a lot of good, big clubs in there! This is NOT going to be easy! It’s probably going to be more difficult than last season’s campaign! Basically, if we want to try and go somewhere in this Europa League, we need to spend some money and improve the squad further! And I
don’t mean players like Scott Allan and Nadir Ciftci, I mean quality players for now!

Nadir Ciftci – Enough quality for Celtic?

Deila said he needs to look at his role in our failure, which is obviously true and we can only hope that he perhaps thinks about altering the system slightly. The thing is that the formation shouldn’t cause us so many defensive problems as it is, so why are we having so many defensive problems? I don’t really know! A lack of quality? Or just a lack of consistency?
