Pretty much everyone is of the opinion that Celtic will announce Eddie Howe sooner, rather than later. Sooner? Who knows but I think most people agree that it’s almost a done deal and whatever is holding up the announcement means we just have to sit tight for now.

But a second journalist has admitted that after reading Celtic’s statement, the Eddie Howe deal is no closer to being completed now than it ever was.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Mark Guidi wasn’t too impressed with the Hoops board statement and says that any deal for ANY manager looks a long way off, “For people again it’s like a holding statement.

“Every Celtic supporter wants the next statement from the club to be ‘Here’s your new manager‘. That’s not happening. Going by that statement, I don’t think it’s close otherwise I don’t think the club would have put the statement out.

Is Eddie Howe the man for the Celtic job?

YES

NO

LET'S MOVE ON

“It’s a kind of ‘We know you’re frustrated, but we are working hard, get behind us, it’s been a horrible season, we want to bounce back as quickly as we can, we want to appoint a new manager as quickly as we can. And when we do send out our season tickets. Please renew them, because we need you inside the stadium and obviously we need the finances.’

“But going with that statement, I’m not anticipating any announcement whether it’s Eddie Howe or anyone, anytime soon.”

After Hugh Keevins made the same claim a day earlier, Celtic fans may surely now be worried that even after the weekends speculation that the deal has indeed been completed, the lack of communication from the board and also Howe’s representatives, may be a cause for concern. Or as the old saying goes, no news is good news?
