Celtic have injury worries ahead of their opening league game of the season against Ross County at Parkhead on Saturday (kick-off 5.15pm).

“Tomorrow is a very significant day, with the [championship] flag being unfurled” – Neil Lennon

Georgios Samaras (toe), Kelvin Wilson (shin splints), James Forrest and Mikael Lustig (both stiffness) are all current doubts for the reigning champions.

Recent signing Virgil van Dijk is already sidelined by a foot injury, but fellow Dutchman Derk Boerrigter goes straight into the squad having this week arrived from Ajax.

“Tomorrow is a very significant day, with the [championship] flag being unfurled,” manager Neil Lennon told BBC Scotland. “I’m really pleased John Keane [honorary chairman] is doing it as he is a great custodian of the club. It signifies what we achieved last year and we are looking forward to it.”

Richard Brittain and Ivan Sproule are both suspended for the visitors and Dutch midfielder Melvin De Leeuw is carrying an ankle injury.
