On todays A Celtic State of Mind podcast hosts Paul John Dykes, Kevin Graham and Colin Watt were discussing the new Celtic manager and whether or not there is unity in the boardroom on the selection of Roy Keane as the new Celtic manager.

The boys discussed the process that the Celtic board are currently undertaking but co host Kevin Graham was dismayed at the amount of rumours surrounding the potential candidate for the job and suggested that the Celtic fans are “being played” right now by the board, “We are getting played, us a fan channel, and other fan outlets with the rumours that are being kicked about and certain leaks to the press. It’s extremely clear to me that there’s a split in the boardroom on who they want as the next Celtic manager.

“There’s a side for Keane and a side for anybody but Keane.  For me, looking and knowing where the rumour of where Harkin, Keane and Butt came from, I think it is quite clear that person doesn’t want Roy Keane anywhere near Celtic Football Club, and that’s why it was put out there.”

Roy Keane for next Celtic gaffer?

YES

YES

NO

NO

Paul John Dykes agreed with Graham’s ascertation when he continued, “It’s a great shout and before we go any further I think the important thing is to say that at A Celtic State of Mind, you appreciate that someone is actually giving you information with an ulterior motive. And that’s why it’s sometimes so difficult to manage that.

“So I remember days before I mentioned on the podcast, sending it out (The Roy Keane rumour), and you came back to me and said, ‘Well somebody in our boardroom wants to test the water or wants Roy Keane blown out the water‘, which basically did happen.

“I mean if you were to do it in terms of a popularity vote,  the vast majority of Celtic fans that I seen on the back of the podcast and on the back of the tweet where like ‘No chance I don’t want to go near it’.

“And I’m not just saying this for effect, that I probably could count on one hand, and this is obviously a tiny cross section of the overall support of course, the amount of people that I’ve seen coming back saying Roy Keane is the man for the job.”

A truly outstanding claim from the ACSOM Team that would explain the mountainous range of rumours surrounding the imminent appointment of the new manager and it has a striking resemblance to how Government’s handle their decision making process.

Leak out information, gauge public opinion then make your move.  It’s a crass way to run your business but it is time the Celtic board grew a set, and made their move.
